Give them a reason to read your Blog

Literally thousands of blogs are published daily not to mention countless news zines and websites. So why would someone read your blog, you wonder. I mean, how significant is it in the vast stream of bytes zinging across cyber space every second? That, my friend, is the ultimate question. And I am going to give you the answer.

YOUR BLOG IS AS SIGNIFICANT AS YOU CHOOSE TO MAKE IT.

GIVE YOUR READERS A REASON TO READ YOUR BLOG, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

Exactly how do you accomplish this feat of wonder, you ask?

Here are some ideas to start your venture to become one of the most important blogs on the internet. By that, I mean you rank on one of the first two pages on Google and you show up on social networks. People want to friend you on Facebook and follow you on Twitter.

  • Offer news or information that people hunger to read.
  • Keep your blog up to date and post some widgets to current events or resources.
  • Make the title and url stand out and easy to remember.
  • Add great pictures, video and lots of detail.
  • Give help tips if your blog features an art, skill or project.
  • Share it with everyone on every imaginable social site on the internet. Make friends on all of them and be sure to socialize regularly with them. Do this with group postings for ease. Ask all your social network friends to post or share your updated blog post links.
  • Ask questions of your friends and followers to find out what they want to read. Use surveys on your site.
Finally - Offer news and information that people hunger to read. Make yours better than the top stories on Google on the first two pages in the same category.

Chicken Little was close with his Sky Falling Theory

Look up to the sky to see what's  happening above you. If you check Space.com you will find some fascinating events taking place in our solar system that directly affect earth. Chicken Little really was close with his "sky falling theory" so pay close attention when you view the sun, moon and stars. You never know what might come hurling out of the sky towards earth or the sun or the moon, either. It's been a wild ride in space these days.

12 Reasons to take Blog you Back Opportunities

If you belong to blog companies or social networks, then you've probably seen the "Blog Me and I'll Blog U Back Challenges or Opportunities". You might be asking yourself why you would take time to blog review another blog in exchange for getting your site reviewed in return. The biggest factor you may be questioning this practice might be the money, since these exchanges are usually reciprocal and without pay. I'm going to list 12 Reasons to take Blog you Back Opportunities and let you decide if this blogging practice is for you. At the end of this post, I'm placing a challenge to the first ten people who leave a comment. Read to the end of this post to find out what it is.

Reason Number 1.

It will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know that you helped bring attention to a fellow /sista blogger which will draw a wider audience for them. Brownie points and good karma duly noted. It also fulfills the golden rule. 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.' So that's how the whole blog me back concept got started, huh?

Reason Number 2.

The person you review will feel so ego inflated that they will place a link and probably make mention in a subsequent post or on Twitter and Facebook and MySpace that you wrote about them. In their state of gratitude they will easily give you two to four back links to the article that you wrote about them or their blog. Presto. Two to four backlinks with very little effort. More visitors to your blog again and maybe a few followers.

Reason Number 3.

It will broaden your horizons and challenge you to step out of your comfort zone. Have you ever noticed how easy it is to fall into a routine with your blogging like so many of us do with every day life? After awhile we find ourselves rehashing the same topics or people or places or events trying desperately to find a new spin on leftovers. Blog you back opps open the door for brand new content with very different styles and approaches. You will become a more versatile writer.

Just When I Think I Am Done

Thanks to Chris Brogan for giving me this blog title and topic to write about. It's number 98 on his list of blog topics to write about. Visit his blog and review the list for yourself.

http://www.chrisbrogan.com/100-blog-topics-i-hope-you-write/
When I first thought about this topic, I thought about how many times I find myself saying this...just when I think I Am Done I find more work, more writing and more advertising to do. No matter how many times I go over the list there is always more to add. I am the Queen of Perpetual Lists. Now that would be a cool blog topic, don't you think? In fact, that would be a nice blog niche. Can you imagine the thousands of ways a person could use that topic to write. There would be enough content to last months and years just from a few brainstorming sessions. You see, therein lies my problem. I am not capable of turning off the idea stream. If I try to quiet my brain then more ideas just seem to roll in. I'm driven to get the paper and pen or the laptop to start writing them down. It's constant for me and that is why I became a freelance writer. This is a fantastic outlet for a relentless flow of energy from my mind to the active part of my brain. And you know what? I am never done!

Chris Brogan gives away 100 Blog Titles

Since I'm blogging about brainstorming blog topics, I think it's appropriate to feature another writer who is overflowing with ideas. Start off by visiting his website then after you browse for a few minutes to get familiar with his style, come back and I'll tell you a bit about how and why I chose his blog title giveaway for this blog.

http://www.chrisbrogan.com/100-blog-topics-i-hope-you-write/

So did you visit Chris Brogan's site? What did you think of his style and his writing? Did he make you think? Were you inspired by him?

Do you have your answers yet? Okay. I'll tell you what I think now. I like his site and his blog style as well as Chris' writing. He both inspired me and made me think and that is why I'm writing this post right now.

It all started out as a simple search engine quest to study other blogs that write about choosing blog topics and titles. There were so many in the first few pages that I relied upon inspiration to guide me to the first one that I wanted to read for this project.

Introducing Chris Brogan.

I skipped the rest of the sites until another time because his blog drew me in and when I found his post giving away 100 blog titles, I felt challenged and inspired. I want to share that challenge with you.

I'm aiming to feature all 100 of his blog titles right here on Blog Me Back 2. If you will write a post for one or more of these same blog titles, comment below or email me at themidnightwriter1@gmail.com. I will share a reciprocal link from my post of the same title to yours if you will do the same.  As a bonus, I will give you five blog post titles to run away with.

Sound like fun? Let the challenge begin! We'll have monthly updates on this little challenge and I hope we get lots of players. See you next month right here! Happy blogging.

10 Top Blog Topic Ideas

Some mornings I wake up and tell myself that I just don't know what to write about today. I have many blogs and other writing assignments on a daily basis so my creativity is tapped into continually. After struggling with this a little while, I realized that I had to find a way to fill the wellspring of my creative flow. So I began a quest to find sources for blog topic ideas.

The top ten blog topic ideas are only a beginning in this series for me. It's a start and every journey starts somewhere. Let's get going.

The top blog topic idea is revolutionary yet simple and so obvious.

1. Find the top 100 blogs and their authors on the internet and study their style while you read their posts to get a feel for the content topics. Let the pros inspire you while you read. Take a pen and paper and write whatever comes to mind as you read. Your notes can be a word or a few words. Write blog titles or just topic ideas but write down all the inspiration that comes to mind. The first time you practice this method, you may only write a few ideas. With practice, this technique will get easier. It will become one of your favorites and you will fill notebooks with ideas to tap into when you need a creative nudge.

2. Blog about your family. This is a source for dozens, if not hundreds of topic ideas.
3. Friends are a versatile, fascinating source for topics.
4. Blog about 2012. Research events current and past regarding world events and prophecy.
5. Tap into your Childhood.
6. Natural Disasters are a current hot topic and there is plenty of news every day about earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, volcanoes, and hurricanes. Meteors and comets are fast becoming an every day topic along with electromagnetic pulses. Just read the daily news for ideas. You will not be left wanting.
7. Religion and its impact on the world today.
8. Politics. This also covers diplomatic relations, the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
9. Children and how theworld views them.
10. Food. The world food supply. Diet. Health. Nutrition. Longevity. Nutritional supplements. Naturopathic tonics. Herbs, vitamins, and minerals.

Pro Media Blog

I performed a search on Google looking for popular blog topics. In that search, I discovered a blog titled "Pro Media Blog" at the top of the listing. So I clicked it to check out the information. I was impressed with their presentation on my topic search. The article titled "10 Most Popular Blog Topics to Make Money Online" impressed me enough to review it on my blog. Normally, I would write to the blog owner first and request a reciprocal review. Instead, I decided to offer good content material to my readers and then notify the author to read my review. Here is my opinion of Pro Media Blog.

There are unlimited ways to develop ideas for writing blog reviews. First, brainstorm article ideas by listing all the titles and topics that come to mind. If you wish to review existing sites then I have an easy method for you to use. Start by surfing the internet using your topic and title ideas as the keyword searches. You should find ample listings of blogs and websites that use your prescribed keywords. Choose the ones that interest you and read over them to decide which ones you would like to review. Resources for Blog U Back Ideas

Smorty: This company hires bloggers to write for their paying advertisers. They also help their new bloggers build back links and search engine page rank with their reciprocal blogging platform. It's a simple system whereby the blogger requests to write a free review. Randomly, their system will select a blog about which to write the review. In turn, your blog will be randomly assigned to a writer who will write a review about your blog. Each participant receives a back link to their site. Smorty allows its members to rank each review that you write.

Let me have it! Send me your Blog Url

I've had the idea for this blog almost two years but recently just pulled it from invisibility, bought the domain name, gave it a new face and started fleshing out some good content topics. It still lacks the momentum I desire for it though. I need to blog about you and I need you to blog me back. I have over 50 blogs of great variety and style with multiple niches, so you won't be at a loss for words when you review my network.

Here's the deal:

From today until the last day of March, I will write a review for everyone who leaves a comment on this blog between those dates. The review will appear in one of my blogs that you get to choose. I'll email you the complete list after I read your comment. Please include your email, name and blog url that you want reviewed. I'll write approximately 200 words and I'll include one photo and two links. Blogs will reviewed in the order the comments are dated.

Part two of this contest involves participation from you. After I write the blog review for your site, I will leave a comment with the link to the review on your blog. Once this is done, if you accept this challenge, then you have to write a review about one of my sites on your blog and notify me when it's finished.

I'm hoping I get a lot of feedback on this one. Let's go for 100 reviews. Wouldn't that be exciting!!?? Please spread the word on Twitter, Facebook, My Space and on your blogs. I'll leave the light on for ya!

Visit with Ed and The World Famous Blog

If you are interested in sports, music, entertainment and if you have opinions about any of these topics, then take a gander at Ed's "The World Famous Blog".  I stumbled upon this blog on a random quest for quality blog content to read for my own education and amusement. As a writer, I love to read other people's works. It helps me gain perspective about writing, in general, and other people's views, in particular. Ed' blog immediately caught my attention because the title was like a magnet. Who wouldn't want to read "The World Famous Blog"?

Ed doesn't hold back in writing the truth that he finds available to the public. His blog featured the rude audacity of a Fox reporter who would not allow President Barack Obama to get more than a few words in between his incessant interruptions. Watch the video and you will be incensed whether you agree with the President and his policies or not. There is such a thing as rendering common respect and courtesy during a public interview to our nation's elected leaders, especially the President. Thanks for showing the video, Ed.

Read down further and you'll find a text exchange between Tiger Woods and some mystery women with whom he engaged in "alleged" sexual fantasy conversations. I say it is alleged because I have not found verification of this text exchange's authenticity. The interesting posts don't stop there so keep reading. Ed writes about Mom on Facebook and Burger King's next move. He uses lots of photos and videos which I find very engaging. Most people speed read nowadays thanks to texting and twitter so this blog will be an easy read with its engaging content, shorter posts and images to keep your interest.

I like the layout because as The Midnight Writer, I utilize dark backgrounds for my persona and I love it but its not successful on every blog. It works well with images on The World Famous Blog. As you scroll to the bottom of the page, prepare to be a little shocked at the image of Forehead Tittaes. I noticed this site focuses on celebrities and musicians but I would like to see them delve into some world events for a little change of flavor. Just a suggestion, Ed. It's not my blog and everyone has their own style. I like your blog so have fun with it. Let me know if you add anything really exciting.

Why don't you all visit Ed's blog and tell him what you would like to read about?

Tracking Blogs that Write about 2012

This will be a new series and a special focus for me. I am intrigued, yeah, even captivated by ancient prophecies as they relate to modern day events. The fascination has engulfed my imagination most of my life. (That's another story) Since I'm so interested in the topic, I thought it would be inspiring to write on yet another blog. The difference with posts on Blog Me Back 2 is that I will not feature just my stories and blogs on the same subject, but I will be writing reviews about other blogs who feature 2012 and all the related subject matter. This should prove to be an eye opening experience for me and for you, my readers.

I'll announce the first review in a couple days. Meanwhile, visit a site where I have written one guest post "Approaching Ascension or Armageddon". I plan to start this series with a review of my 2012 blog and Mayan 2012, which is where I wrote the previously mentioned article. Join me as we Countdown till 2012.

LinkedIn is a great Resource for Bloggers

As social networks go, LinkedIn is like Caviar whereas other networks are French Fries. I'm not saying that it's for the elite, rather that it allows the members to present the best in their persona to the world. With this interactive social network, you can build a dynamic profile that displays your personal information including a small head shot photo along with business history, experience and connections. Other people can write recommendations for you that will display on your LinkedIn Profile for prospective friends and business associates to peruse. It's an interactive way to connect with others who share like interests in a professional format.

This Blog is a Proud Member of Izea's InPostLinks

It's March 13, 2010 and today is a wonderful day! The sun is shining as spring emerges in Central California. Cephas and I are hanging out in beautiful Yuba City, which is where this blog was created 1 1/2 years ago. It's taken a journey full circle to become an active blog platform for me. I'm finally satisfied with the layout and it's content niche. Since I'm so pleased with it, I am entering it into the blogging marketplace so I can use it as a voice for advertisers and private clients. Start calculating that jingle in my savings sock that is going to pay our way to the peace gathering in Jordan 2011.

Famous Celebrity Blogs

(Not me. The blog that is today's feature review.)

Okay. I'm going to take a gamble and step out of my comfort zone to review some famous blogs. DO NOT consider this a permanent personality transition for me. This is a temporary walk onto the catwalk of notoriety so I can share information outside of my normal realm...in all fairness to my readers. You have been forewarned. This is not the docile proper Midnight Writer. I'm in Hollywood zone now with Damn I'm Cute. (I just had to say that one more time. It's so out of character for me!)

Go ahead and click on the link to cruise Hollywood Boulevard with the star studded reviews this rank 4 blog features on its pages. I checked out the site info using this neat little gadget that I have on my browser. It pulls up page rank, whois info, a nice screenshot of the site which I pasted into this review, along with so much valuable information about the site. Find ranks with Google, Quantcast, Alexa, how many times it's been digged and so forth.

Damn I'm Cute is hot! It's got a lot going for it search engine wise and according to the social networks. But how is it for content and story interests? Let's take a look and see.

This is a no holds barred blog that relays celeb news and gossip in a blunt tell all fashion. I didn't find any restrictions on subject matter. The first article is about Lady Gaga trying to get past airport security. Read the article Lady Gaga's Glam Doesn't Stop at Airport Security.  The author's perspective about Lady Gaga's ordeal is witty and a little dicey. The most interesting part of the story is a reflection about getting through the security search with boots that were painted onto her legs. And no , she did not remove the wig and veil.

I scrolled down the website to get a feel for the celebrity tales on this cyber Hollywood Boulevard. I found famous names like Marie Osmond, Rose Ann Barr, Corey Haim's news of death, Jennifer Anniston, and Tom Hanks featured on the cover of Time Magazine. Wow! Jam packed full of hot stories and even hotter celebrities...this mag is worth a click or two of your mouse to pay your respects once a day. Subscribe to the rss feed so you don't miss out. And Billy Ray Cyrus, is your daughter Miley old enough to be dating that guy?

This Blog made its Social Spark Debut Today

Hopefully Social Spark will approve this blog. I submitted it into my list of blogs on my profile at their site which brings my list to a total of seven blogs. When I am finished submitting my blogs, I will have over forty in the queue to write for Social Spark advertisers.

I hope to be very busy this summer as I'm saving to pay for a trip to the Middle East for a large peace gathering in Jordan 2011.  That means I have to earn some big bucks. Also, my husband and I are pitching a movie idea in L.A. in the next couple weeks. If the producer takes on the project, we'll be filming some of this event live for the movie. It's going to be an exciting year. I hope you'll join Cephas and me for the adventure.

If you have a story to share or if you want your blog reviewed, then email me at themidnightwriter1@gmail.com or follow/DM me on Twitter with your request. I will take on all reasonable requests with the exception of pornography, gambling or any illicit or illegal sites that defame any one culture, race or religion. Any sites targeting children in an illicit way should avoid contacting me because I will not review your site. Those are my only restrictions. Other than that, I look forward to reading the requests and to writing reviews about any and all interesting topics.

There is one requirement I have for any one choosing to participate in this project. I ask that every one write a review about one of my sites in return. I'll select the blog out of a list of 50 when you email or DM me. Some of my sites are listed in the sidebar so browse them. I will honor special requests to review a particular one of my sites if you express a passion for it.

Some sites that I am hoping to have reviewed are listed below:

I'll post occasional updates with blogs that I want targeted for blog me 2 reviews. Anyone who reads this can look over the list above. If you have a passion for one of these blogs, then contact me and request it. Otherwise, I'll choose the blog to be reviewed.

I'm waiting for the requests to pour in and I'm itching to read your site.
